The Feng Shui compass or Lo-pan as it is also called is useful in defining the Bagua of a home. It is used for the following:
==> To get a better understanding of the Feng Shui elements of a building. The Feng Shui compass can be used to determine good and bad regions of the house.
==> To determine an area in the house that is associated with a part of the person’s life.

Feng Shui Compass
The Feng Shui compass has bands of concentric rings centered around a magnetised needle. There may be up to 40 concentric rings in the compass.
In Chinese, “Lo” means “everything” and “Pan” means “bowl”, so Lo-pan literally means everything in a bowl. True to its meaning, the feng shui compass can be used to obtain almost all Feng Shui information about your house.
The base of the Feng Shui compass is usually red in color as red color brings prosperity. Red also protects the home from negative energies.
In olden days, tiger bones were used to make Feng Shui compasses. However, most Feng Shui compasses made today use other materials. If you are thinking of buying a compass, visit a Chinese shop in your area. It should be noted that not all Feng Shui compasses are accurate.
